Trinket
This concept vehicle is a mobile workspace for modern entrepreneurs – florists, coffee vendors and creatives – who value sustainability, functionality and identity. Inspired by the Volvo Duett, it supports small businesses with smart features like EU-pallet compatibility, a jalousie-style rear door and multi-use taillights. Compact and adaptable, it’s designed for real-world use, encouraging interaction through honest, tactile design. More than transport, it’s a practical, personal tool that reflects its owner’s values and fuels creativity on the move.
About the course
In the course – Identity in Motion – students role-play as designers working in a strategic design department, with the goal to propose vehicle concepts that could shape culture. With global sustainable development goals in mind, students explore how customer needs and aspirations could be the foundation to proposing new and relevant products for Volvo Cars in the year 2030. The aim is to equip students with the tools required to identify opportunities for future offerings connecting a brand to the market in a meaningful way. Intuition, rationality and creativity are key factors to explore, allowing students to propose scalable solutions that should bring value to the company, their customers and to society as a whole.
