Vehicle Interior Design (TD2)

This is Ford Fun, a car interior concept focusing on physical and playful interactions, allowing our users Christine and Stella to go back to the fundamentals while putting a smile on their faces. Our multi purpose cylinders create a continuous loop from the driver’s door panel to the passenger’s, for a logical but quirky expression. The interior is like a playground, or a fidget park if you will, with numerous inviting interactions and form elements to explore. To not lose track of Ford’s identity during the project, we have worked with two of their current values, capability and affordability, and one new value, smile, as guiding stars for our interior.

We had the opportunity to refine and print two interior details in scale 1:1 and evaluate with 3D-printed details.
Our interior uses six unique materials designed to delight Christine and ensure easy cleaning, prioritizing mono-materials and post-consumer recycled content wherever possible.
Standardized cylinders allow interchangeable components throughout the interior, including movable speakers, making changing fader and balance fun and innovative.
