UMA 2023 End of Year Exhibition

The UMA End of Year Exhibition celebrates the work of the whole school, ranging from first to fifth year, with a special focus on our graduating master students. We warmly invite members of the public, alongside prospective students, researchers and employers curious to find out more about what our students are working on.

Exhibition open to public: Grand opening 

Welcome to celebrate the creativity and ambition of UMA students. We will have guided tours, speeches and announcements! 

The exhibition includes final projects from seven architecture studios including masters studio investigations on the urgent questions involved in Displacement: the Global Challenge; Radical Domesticities: Swedish Standards; and Man-made Geographies: from the planetary to the molecular. The undergraduate studios focus on topics such as: Craftopia: exploring building cultures; Closing Loops: circular architecture; and Futurescapes: architecture as performative practice.

Roundtable on “Holistic Habitat”  

This roundtable discussion will invite contemporary architects Jenni Reuter and Helen Runting to present their holistic approach and discuss recent developments in architecture where the politics of space includes the politics of care. This will include new ways of framing architectural problem solving, from concept development, public engagement and collaborative production in the region, Sweden and internationally.  
Chaired by Professor Ele Carpenter and Professor Roemer van Toorn.

Furniture Fair Opening  

The Furniture fair, produced by the students themselves, showcase furniture crafted by the students based on the concept “noisy”. 

The Architecture exhibitions are open to the public: 

26 May: 16.00-18.00 (Opening)

28 May: 12.00-17.00 
(closed Monday-Tuesday) 
31 May: 12.00-17.00 (Roundtable 14:00 – 16:00, Furniture Fair 16:00) 
1 June: 12.00-17.00
