The research within UMERC is conducted through many different projects, some that are tied to individual persons and some to larger groups of researchers. The research at UMERC can be considered applied research, since it aims at directly or indirectly support the development of learning, teaching, text-books, tests, steering documents etc.
UMERC has experience of collaborations with several other research areas within Umeå University such as mathematics, psychology, neuroscience, computer science, language, special education and science education. Collaborations also take place with other higher education institutions both nationally and internationally.
