The development of artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing rapidly and is fundamentally transforming higher education. To address this change, an academic approach is needed in which we systematically examine, reflect on, and develop the use of AI in education.
Umeå university is taking an important step toward the future of education as Centre for Educational Development, UPL, initiates a three year initiative focused on AI for Learning. The initiative aims to establish a university wide platform for knowledge development, exchange of experiences, and collegial learning. Through workshops, seminars, conferences, and thematic working groups, the goal is both to deepen and broaden the university’s work with AI for learning. Together, we want to inspire and equip teachers and students for the challenges of tomorrow.
