Applied medical imaging 7.5 credits

About the course

The course deepens and broadens the students' knowledge and skills in medical physics / biomedical engineering by conducting a project in medical imaging at Umeå university hospital. The projects are related to needs from clinical work or research projects in medical imaging (ultrasound, MRI, PET, etc). The projects are conducted by a group of students and the results are presented in a written report and by an oral presentation at a clinical department.

  Eligibility
  
  At least 120 ECTS completed in a three-year engineering education, or in one of the main areas of computer science, electronics, physics, mathematics or mathematical statistics, which must include Linear Algebra 7.5 ECTS and Statistics for Technical Physicists 6 ECTS as well as Programming Technology with C and Matlab 7.5 ECTS or equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies if the course is given in Swedish.
