Architectural Design 1:2 15 credits

About the course

In the course the student's understanding of architecture broadens by exploring concepts of form, materiality, tectonics and scale related to function and context as part of the architectural design process. Students will further develop skills and methods to integrate the sustainable use of resources. In the course students will train basic architectural design tools, such as sketching, drawing and model-making. Students will further learn to apply tools of representation to document both their design process and final outcome.

The course is divided into four modules:

  • Module 1: Understanding of Place, 3 credits
  • Module 2: Design Elements, 4,5 credits
  • Module 3: Tectonics of Space, 6 credits
  • Module 4: Documentation and Communication, 1,5 credits
