CAID - Advanced level, step 1 3 credits
About the course
Computer aided design techniques are used in the field of industrial design to facilitate the understanding around a product and the communication between engineers, designers and other participants in the development process. Computer aided methods are applied during all steps of the design process, from the early creative stages all the way to the high-quality data needed as reference for manufacturing a product. The aim of the course is to introduce CAID (Computer Aided Industrial Design) as a tool to test and communicate design ideas and proposals. The course covers different methods used to create, use and develop forms and details with the aid of computers. By creating virtual 3D-models the students gain the ability to generate presentation material in the form of digital images, printouts or animations.
