About the course
An independently conducted study of a delimited problem in the field of English linguistics. The study is presented in English in the form of a thesis that conforms to generally accepted research principles regarding content and format. The course also includes peer response on other students' theses. The subject is chosen in consultation with the supervisor.
Module 1: Research planning, 2 credits
Problem formulation and preparation of a research plan and preliminary bibliography
Module 2: Implementation of research project, 5 credits
Presentation and defense of a carefully prepared outline of their thesis at a seminar and opposition on another student's work.
Module 3: Research report, 8 credits
An independent project in English linguistics based on the approved research plan and opposition on another student's thesis.
