Transformation with Artificial Intelligence 3 credits

About the course

Artificial Intelligence (AI), currently most prominently manifested as Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents, is one of the most visible technology hype topics today. However, with the increasing prevalence of AI-based technologies in society, the challenge of applying AI is shifting from mere adoption to ensuring the technologies have a sustainable, long-term transformative impact. Under this backdrop, this course enables technology specialists, researchers, and decision-makers to create the technological and organizational conditions for the successful application of AI, achieving business goals, as well as societal objectives.

The course is part of Umeå University's initiative on short courses for professionals and is aimed at system developers and other roles involved in system development. The course is project-based. With introductory presentations and discussions, participants develop their own projects based on real-life challenges in a continuous dialogue with the teachers. The course is given in English.

The teaching takes place during the day on the Umeå University campus. The course begins with activities and project work for two weeks in June (between June 8 and June 19) and ends with a presentation in mid-August.

The teacher responsible for the course is Timotheus Kampik.
