Electric and magnetic fields in matter. Boundary value problems, separation of variables. Maxwell's equations. Plane waves, polarisation. Poynting´s theorem. Plane waves in media, dispersion relations. Optics, reflection and refraction. Wave packages, phase- and group-velocity. Wave guides. Radiation from accelerated charges, Larmor´s formula.

Required Knowledge

Foundations of Electromagnetics, or equivalent.
