At 19:00 a screening of the film Acoustic Ocean by Ursula Biemann, one of the artists participating in the Eco-Visionaries exhibition. This event is a part of the programme in conjunction to the exhibition.

Acoustic Ocean was filmed in Norway is in late September 2017 and Spring 2018. It is a visionary work of art engaging a scientific interest in the images and sounds of an altered sense. The soundtrack is a composition of fish vocalization recorded and made available by marine biologists. Among others, the musician and climate activist Sofia Jannok appears in the film.

Acoustic Ocean is an artistic exploration of the sonic ecology of marine life in the North Atlantic. Located on the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway, the video centers on the performance of a marine-biologist diving with all sorts of hydrophones and recording devices. In this science-fictional quest, her task is to sense the submarine space for acoustic and bioluminescent forms of expression.

Ursula Biemann is an artist, writer, and video essayist based in Zurich Switzerland. Her artistic practice is strongly research oriented and involves fieldwork in remote locations where she investigates climate change and the ecologies of oil, ice and water.

The Eco-Visionaries exhibition presents alternative approaches to, and ideas about the relationship between human beings and the environmental, social and mental ecologies – systems that are intrinsically linked and interactive. The exhibition includes video works, sound works, drawing, books and installations by: Ursula Biemann, (b. 1955, Switzerland) and Paulo Tavares (b. 1980, Brazil), Carolina Caycedo (b. 1978, the UK), the international group Futurefarmers, Marjetica Potrč (b. 1953, Slovenia), Samuel Roturier (b. 1982, France), Erik Sjödin (f. 1979, Sweden), Leena Valkeapää (b. 1964, Finland) and Oula-Antti Valkeapää (b. 1970, Finland) and Elin Már Øyen Vister (b. 1976, Norway).

A programme of open lectures, seminars and film screening is offered in conjunction to the exhibition, of which this Art Friday with film screening is a part.
