Welcome to Beyond Calls! This is a recurring group meeting for researchers at Umeå University who want to strengthen their understanding of what makes funding applications successful. Learn what really works directly from fellow researchers and guest funders. At each meeting, researchers share practical insights and personal experiences about what makes a proposal stand out. Get insight in the unwritten rules and clever strategies rarely found in the official call texts.
This time, the theme is "Building research networks". Hear Professor and Arctic Centre Director Keith Larson talk about how to build these networks.
Having an established research network with a shared vision and goals can make a significant difference in securing funding. Building your network should not start after a grant call is announced, but as early as possible after research ideas emerge. The Arctic Centre supports all researchers across all disciplines to help them navigate diverse research ecosystems, including building networks that span the borders of disciplines, institutions, and national boundaries.
