Conversation on Master’s theses in AI with TAIGA

Time Friday 30 January, 2026 at 09:00 - 10:30
Place Jupiter (Galaxen)

Curious about how we can make Master’s projects more interdisciplinary with AI as a shared focus?

TAIGA (Umeå University’s Centre for Transdisciplinary AI) warmly invites programme directors, thesis-course coordinators and interested students to an open and informal meeting.

TAIGA brings people and perspectives together across disciplines to strengthen education and research in AI. During this meeting, we want to listen, explore, and better understand how Master’s projects can be supported in a shared environment where students, supervisors and programmes meet, benefit from TAIGA’s complementary expertise, and build new collaborations.

During the conversation, we will discuss:

  • What support programmes and courses may need for AI‑related Master’s projects
  • How projects can become more closely connected to TAIGA’s network and resources
  • How TAIGA can help encourage and facilitate collaboration across disciplines

We meet in Jupiter, in Galaxen (map link), together with Eva Mårell‑Olsson, Coordinator for Education & AI at TAIGA.

Programme directors and coordinators of Master’s thesis courses are especially welcome, as are students at the Master’s level who are curious about AI.

About TAIGA

TAIGA is Umeå University’s cross-faculty centre for transdisciplinary AI. We create meeting places, activities and support that inspire, challenge and guide researchers, teachers and students, while engaging with society through dialogue and collaboration.
