I study the use of IT from a pedagogical perspective with technologies such as AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
My research focus on the field of education, where I have studied the school's implementation and use of computers and tablets for a long time, but I have also conducted studies on the impact of digitalization on professional groups in other areas, such as dentistry and ambulance.
In recent years, I have also conducted several studies focusing on the use of more advanced digital technologies such as AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and AI (Artificial Intelligence). The studies on the use of AR and VR technology have mainly concerned higher education pedagogy and AI mainly in the dental care sector (e.g. Socially Intelligent Agents).
Another area of research that I also find very exciting to study is pedagogical methods and teaching strategies such as gamification, often in combination with the use of different types of digital technologies (e.g. computers, tablets, mobiles and smart glasses) . Examples of recently published research are about opportunities and challenges with using AR and VR technology in, for example, chemistry teaching at university level and gameplay as a pedagogical method in primary school with a mix of different tools and digital techniques.
