Film Accessibility: Opportunities for Inclusion, Creativity, and Outrageousness

Join us for a screening of films like you've never seen before--literally! We'll be showing cutting-edge disability shorts in a cutting-edge way. Learn what happens when audio description (narration of what's on screen for blind and visually-impaired people) is woven into the creative process from the start rather than slapped on as an afterthought.

Cathy Kudlick, PhD, former director of Superfest, the longest-running disability film festival in the world and visiting scholar and honorary doctor at Umeå University will be your tour guide at this event that will change how you think about disabled people and filmmaking.

The films are screened with English audio description.

Organized by DISTIME in collaboration with Humlab.

This event is made possible thanks to generous funding from Stiftelsen Marcus och Amalia Wallenbergs Minnesfond. Project: “DISTIME Ageing with disabilities inpast, present and future societies” (MAW 2019.0003)
