GeUmetric Deep Learning

Time Monday 17 August until Wednesday 19 August, 2026 at 12:00 - 13:00
Place NAT.D.300

We invite you to the third edition of GeUmetric Deep Learning!  This workshop is about geometric deep learning, which is a subject that both concerns methods of incorporating geometric properties of learning tasks into neural networks, and also analysis of the geometrical structures within them. Our goal is a relaxed and welcoming workshop where particularly PhD students gets a chance to present their work to a knowledgeable audience.

This year, we have a focus on AI for science. We have invited Andreas Ipp from TU Wien, Vishal Ngairangbam from Durham University and Juan Viguera Diez from AstraZeneca to give plenary presentations in how they use machine learning methods for their work in physics and microbiology, respectively. We therefore especially would like to invite members from other departments than the mathematical one to attend!

The workshop is free of charge, but we have a limited number of participants – sign up at https://www.umu.se/en/department-of-mathematics-and-mathematical-statistics/research/mathematical-foundations-of-artificial-intelligence/geumetric-deep-learning-workshop-2026/. The spots for both participation and contributed talks are dwindling, so sign up as soon as possible!
