In a turbulent era marked by rising anti-genderism and right-wing populism, how do queer movements resist and how do they reclaim their spaces? Whose collective memories are preserved, and whose queer futures are imagined? What are the impacts of digital technologies in these resistance cultures? In this talk, I will discuss my PhD dissertation "Lubunya Assemblages", which is a multi-sited ethnography focusing on Turkey's queer (Lubunya) movement. With the help of assemblage theory, I will challenge the dichotomy between online and offline activism, by illuminating how multiple subjects, spaces and technologies come together affectively to sustain Turkey's queer resistance in the face of political and epistemic violence.
