Time Thursday 14 December, 2023 at 14:00 - 15:00
Place Aula Nordica

Ferenc Krausz visits Umeå University on 14 December and gives a lecture in Aula Nordica. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Electrons and Light Waves: Teaming up to Protect Human Health

Attosecond physics provides insight into the atomic-scale motion of electrons and the oscillation of light waves. We address how this technical capability opens new avenues for preventive medicine.

The lecture will be held in English. No registration is required, but seats are limited.

Ferenc Krausz works at the Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik, Garching and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany. He is awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics together with Pierre Agostini and Anne L'Huiller "for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter".
