In this presentation, Louise Biddle, Science Director at Voice of the Ocean (VOTO), will introduce the work of the organization and describe some ongoing projects, including opportunities for collaboration.
Voice of the Ocean Foundation is a Swedish philanthropic foundation that aims to strengthen the health of our oceans through increasing access to ocean knowledge. For science and research, this consists of the operation of our VOTO Observatories (5 locations around the Baltic, continuously occupied by underwater gliders), developing methodologies with marine technology and data processing, and supporting fieldwork or research that aims to fill critical knowledge gaps in ocean science.
Since 2021, underwater gliders from Voice of the Ocean (VOTO) have collected over 500,000 profiles, the organization has supported the development and integration of new platforms or sensors, and explored the application of survey technology for habitat mapping and ecosystem understanding.
