The seminars in Discrete Mathematics aimed at researchers, employees, and students.

This week's seminar is given by Dmitrii Panasenko, Umeå University.

Title: Ellipsoid Method

Abstract: This talk is part of my assignments for a linear programming course and will be devoted to describing the first polynomial algorithm for linear programs presented in the late 1970s.

I will present the main ideas that led to this algorithm, with some proofs. I will also provide some historical background and describe the further development in polynomial algorithms for linear programs.
