What's Planning got to Do with Architecture?

As part of Umeå School of Architecture's event series UMA Talks we welcome students, staff and the public to a presentation about Swedish planning journal PLAN and FFS - Föreningen för Samhällsplanering (Association for Urban Planning).

Ebba Högström, editor of PLAN and professor at UMA will present the journal and its latest issue (#3 2023) with the theme Kris och beredskap (Crisis and Readiness) and its previous issue (#2 2023) with the theme "The Green transition of Norrland". PLAN is published by FFS which will be presented by Isak Brändström, the chairman of the local branch Umeå/Norrland.

The event is introduced by Cornelia Redeker, Head of Department and Professor at Umeå School of Architecture. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with Ebba Högström, Isak Brändström, Luis Berríos Negrón (professor, UMA) och Cornelia Redeker.

The UMA Talks are a free and accessible series of events. The series is devoted to advancing architectural discourse from both an international perspective and local perspective, and strives to enable the public, students, teachers, and researchers both within architecture and from other fields to get insight to and participate in the educational activities and academic research taking place at Umeå School of Architecture.
