User Guide for Computer Workstations

Do you need help using the computer workstations, screen stations, or the drawing tablet computer in Humlab’s facilities? Here you’ll find a user guide.

Computer and Screen Workstations

Using the computer:

  • Move the mouse to wake the computer, or press the button on top of the computer’s front panel.
  • For Windows login, use: umu-id@ad.umu.se.
  • To log in to the Adobe suite, follow the instructions here.
  • Remember to log out when you're done!

Computer use takes priority over screen-only use.

Using the screen:

  • Connect the USB-C cable to your laptop.
  • Wait a few seconds and follow any on-screen instructions to enable the keyboard and mouse.
  • Start working.
  • Your device must support USB-C with DisplayPort 1.2 (DP Alt Mode) or Thunderbolt 3 or higher. If you experience issues, check with your computer manufacturer to confirm compatibility.

Important!
Do not make any physical changes to the workstation. Do not unplug or plug in cables to the screen. The USB-C connector on the desk is connected to the computer—use this as your primary option.

Printing is available via UmU Print. The nearest printer is located in the library.

Drawing Tablet Computer

  • For Windows login, use: umu-id@ad.umu.se.
  • To log in to the Adobe suite, follow the instructions here.
Remember to log out when you're done!

Computer use takes priority over screen-only use.
