400 exchange students at Umeå University for the spring academic term

NEWS Exchange students from 37 different countries all over the world will arrive in Umeå this weekend to study at Umeå University during the spring term.

209 new exchange students will arrive in Umeå before the end of next week. Many of the exchange students who came this autumn are staying for one more academic term. That means that close to 400 students will study at Umeå university within an exchange programme during the spring term. 

Besides that, a large group of international students, mainly master students, come to Umeå University without an exchange agreement. A total of approximately 1200 international students will conduct their studies at Umeå University this term.

Spring 2010 students arriving on exchange agreements are coming from the following countries:
Austria 10, Australia 9, Belgium 11, Brazil, 3, Canada 12, Switzerland 2, China 10, Cyprus 2, Czech Republic 6, Germany 96, Denmark 1, Spain 29, Finland 21, France 45, United Kingdom 8, Greece 4, Croatia 2, Hungary 4, Ireland 9, India 6, Italy 16, jordan 1, Japan 1, Lithuania 3, Latvia 1, Mexico 1, Holland 6, Norway 1, Poland 11, Portugal 4, Romania 4, Russia 6, Turkey 15, Taiwan 3, USA 15, Vietnam 15, South Africa 6.

The Orientation Course, where the newly arrived students recieve an introduction to studies and life in Umeå, will begin on Monday January 18th.
