Andrii Dmytryshyn awarded SIAM Student Paper Prize 2015

Andrii Dmytryshyn, PhD student at the Department of Computing Science, has been awarded the SIAM Student Paper Prize 2015.
The winning paper is titled “Coupled Sylvester-type Matrix Equations and Block Diagonalization,” and is co-authored with Professor Bo Kågström.
The award consists of a hand-calligraphed certificate, a $1,000 cash award, and an invitation to present the paper at a special session of Student Days at the 2016 SIAM Annual Meeting, to be held July 11-15, 2016, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
The SIAM Student Paper Prizes are awarded every year to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) submitted to the SIAM Student Paper Competition. This award is based solely on the merit and content of the student's contribution to the submitted paper. The purpose of the Student Paper Prizes is to recognize outstanding scholarship by students in applied mathematics or computing.
