Stig Axel Ericsson, who has his roots in Västerbotten, has long been engaged in documenting and highlighting local history. He is the author of the publications Ånäset genom tiderna and Degerfälle genom tiderna, as well as new editions of Till Arnäs historia and Otto Nordenfors’ poetry collection Färden mot norr.
The archive has been donated by Stig Axel Ericsson himself and currently comprises approximately 0.5 metres of shelving. It mainly consists of working materials related to the publications Degerfälle genom tiderna and Till Arnäs historia.
– This archive is of great importance to the documentation of local history, and we are very pleased that it is now available. We would like to thank our intern, Lovisa, for her thorough and dedicated work in cataloguing the material during her placement with us, says Helena Haage, archivist at Umeå University Library.
