Books and journals are being moved from the Medical Library
NEWS
The Medical Library is currently preparing to move books and journals to the University Library, which means that the premises will be a little busier than usual for a while.
The changes to the Medical Library's operations are now becoming apparent in the premises, with some empty shelves and materials being moved.
Petra Svanborg, head of the Media Section, says that some of the materials have already begun to be moved out, such as fiction and journals:
‘During the transition period, I hope that visitors will be understanding about the library being a little more chaotic. Anyone who wants to read printed journals or borrow fiction is already welcome to do so at the University Library instead. Please ask the staff if there is anything you cannot find,’ she says.
All copies of the textbooks, including the reference collection, are now gathered in a specially designated area of the Medical Library. Eventually, the textbooks will be moved to the University Library and incorporated into the textbook collection there. In the future, the Medical Library will have a reference library of textbooks that can be read within the library.
