The board of USBE is now looking for a dean who is committed to realize the school’s vision and for leading and developing the school. Our aim is to manifest and consolidate our international position by strengthening research and our strong research areas and research centers, education quality and students’ ability to act as successful professionals and cooperation with business and society.
USBE is in a phase of development and in the process for acquiring an AACSB-accreditation. Hence, being Dean implies that you, together with faculty, staff and board, strive for a well-integrated and competitive organization which is part of a young and dynamic university. The assignment as dean is for a 3+3 year period, but you are also offered a tenured position that corresponds to your academic merits.
You have documented experience of advanced leadership and you are Associate Professor or full Professor in one of the academic disciplines offered at USBE or have other merits that equal these requirements. You are familiar with education and research within the Swedish university system. Your leadership record includes experiences of managing and advancing the development of organizations, partly internally, partly in cooperation with national and international stakeholders within the university sector, business community and public administration.
As leader you are responsive and good at teamwork. You appreciate an international workplace and create conditions for employees with diverse backgrounds to enjoy work and to perform. You have great personal integrity, like challenges, and are able to handle a setback.
For the position very good knowledge of English and Scandinavian language is a prerequisite. The starting date for the assignment as Dean is negotiated with the USBE board, which is also responsible for the appointment.
