Maria Bengtsson and Herman Stål has been awarded 4 million Sek for the research project New Technology, Coopetition and business models for eco-innovation.
The project will study how environmental innovations can be disseminated and supported through a skills development program directed towards business leaders. The project runs for three years from September 2016 and one PhD student will be employed in the project.
Environmental innovations is often inconsistent with established business models which makes it difficult for companies to implement the technology and to commercialize the innovations. A collective effort is needed to create new markets or transform existing by developing new standards and industrial norms. The project contributes to the development of knowledge in three areas: Environmental Innovation through digital manufacturing, Coopetition and Business models. In all areas there are a number of unanswered but important research questions to be analyzed.
