Johan Lindberg from Vinnova will talk about how to influence decisions within the EU and how the Swedish system with NCP, experts and reference groups are connected with the European system. The presentation will be held in Swedish.
Impact Impact is a term which has become more and more important, and nowadays most funding agencies require that the impact of the research is described in the research proposal. During this meeting we will discuss both scientific and societal impact, highlighting questions such as: What is impact? Does all research have impact? How to best describe impact in proposals? There will also be a presentation from researcher Mattias Strandh (Chair of scientific panel at FORTE). The presentations will be given in English.
MSCA-Innovative Training Networks (H2020) The Innovative Training Networks (ITN) within MSCA fund joint doctoral programmes to consortia with partners from at least three countries, and with close collaborations with different actors from inside as well as outside academia. Grants Office will inform about the different types of ITN available, the requirements for funding, the application procedure and where to find relevant information and documents. There will also be a presentation from Thomas Hellström, researcher from UmU who has received ITN funding. The presentations will be given in English.
Information for financial administrators Reporting in EU projects differs somewhat compared to other funders. During this meeting we will discuss issues that have been brought up in the audits that the European commission has made of UmU projects during 2016. We will also highlight what’s new within the administration of H2020 projects and structural funds. The presentation will be held in Swedish.
American research funding Researchers at Umeå University have the opportunity to apply for funding from several American agencies, such as the NIH and the NIAID. During this meeting Grants Office will inform about different funding opportunities, formal requirements, and the joint application system Grants.gov. We will also be joined by a Anders Sjöstedt, UmU researcher who has previously received funding from the NIH. The meeting is aimed at both researchers and administrators. The presentations will be held in Swedish.
