"Hard Rain: Whole Earth?" exhibition tour opens on campus

The Sweden tour of the sustainability exhibition "Hard Rain: Whole Earth?" was formally inaugurated at Campus Umeå on Monday by Municipal Commissioner Marie-Louise Rönnmark. The exhibition will be displayed outdoors on campus through the 22nd of September.
The acclaimed photo exhibition Hard Rain: Whole Earth?, focusing on the environment, climate, sustainability and the earth's resources, will be on display at the Umeå University campus from 3 to 22 September.
The exhibition is produced by photographer Mark Edwards, who has photographed people and places in 150 countries worldwide. It addresses issues of climate change, population growth, how we use the earth's resources and our common future.
Hard Rain: Whole Earth? is on display outdoors, outside the Universum building and is open to everyone around the clock during the exhibition period.
The original part of the exhibition, "Hard Rain", contains photographs and features the prophetic lyrics from Bob Dylan's 1962 song "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall." It has been shown in more than a hundred locations all over the world and been seen by approximately 15 million people since 2006.
The exhibition and 18 September conference "Hard Rain: Whole Earth?" is jointly organised by the Global Västerbotten, Region Västerbotten, The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), County Administrative Board of Västerbotten, Umeå University and Umeå Municipality.

About the Hard Rain: Whole Earth? Sweden tour
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has funded a two-year tour of Hard Rain: Whole Earth? to principal cities throughout Sweden, featuring customized content that illustrates Swedish sustainable development projects at home and in the majority world, along with a programme of events and guided tours for schools.
