International students challenged to discover Umeå

In the Welcoming Day for the new international students at Umeå University on Friday 31 August, there will be many types of challenges and tasks. The intent is for the students to learn how to navigate around campus and in Umeå.
– We expect 250 to 300 students to participate. They will have the opportunity to learn our bus system in an enjoyable way. Additionally, they will find out about what to experience and see in Umeå, especially in the town centre, says Jenny Eriksson, coordinator at the International Office.
The event is a joint arrangement between Umeå University and Umeå C. There will activities during the morning on campus and within the town limits of Umeå. Between 2 and 5 in the afternoon, the students will take on tasks with Apberget in the town square as the starting point. The conclusion takes place at O'Leary's Bar & Restaurant.
