Margit Schratzenstaller presented in-depth MFF analysis at the European Parliament's Budget Committee

NEWS On October 10, FairTax researcher Margit Schratzenstaller presented an in-depth analysis based on Fairtax results on the core elements of the structure of the next Multiannual Financial Framework at the European Parliament's Budget Committee.

Margit Schratzenstaller argued for a sustainability-oriented fundamental overhaul of the MFF: EU expenditure should provide more European added value, e.g. by supporting a European decarbonisation strategy. Current own resources should be partially replaced by sustainability-oriented tax-based own resources, as for example carbon levies or a financial transaction tax.
