New registry improves your research data management
NEWS
Umeå University is now launching a new research data registry that helps you and your research group keep an overview of your research data – even for older projects. The registry serves as a catalogue where you register your project and describe what type of data exists, how the data have been collected and where they are stored. Data are stored in another location, but the registry gathers all necessary information in one place.
The research data registry gives you and your research group a good overview of your research data – and can also be used for former projects.

What is the research data registry?
Umeå University’s research data registry works as a form you fill in to register your project and you describe data using metadata (such as, information about what the data include and their origin).
By registering your research data, you contribute to open science and enable others to find metadata linked to your research. It also simplifies archiving and disposal, and strengthens information security for your research.

The research data registry is found on the website for researchers. It is free of charge, but requires login using UMU ID and a VPN connection. Du can invite colleagues as co-authors and update the project at any time.
