On 3 June, a new website for researching staff was launched at Umeå University. The new website gathers the information and support you may need when conducting research. No logging in is needed, which means it can also be used by collaborating researchers.
The new researchers’ website has been preceded by intense internal work at the University including a review of the research support offered at the University, and how it can support the research process in the best possible way.

“Conducting research with high quality and in sharp competition for research funding, professional and helpful support is needed throughout the research process. This website is one of several measures to improve this support,” says Katrine Riklund, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University.
The website gathers the information and support needed from when you start wondering about how to fund your research idea to when you are ready to publish and complete. A first version has been launched now, and replaces information that is previously available on the Aktum staff website.
Examples of information on the new website for researchers:
funding calls for research funding;
support in writing funding applications;
information about publishing your results;
support in research data management;
legal issues, research ethics and information security particularly aimed at researchers;
collaboration and partnership issues in research; and lots more.
At its first launch on 3 June, the website contains information from the University Library and the University Administration. Consequently, information previously found on the Aktum staff website under Support for research, and parts of the University Library’s information, has been moved to the new website.
Accessible for other researchers too
Research is often conducted in collaboration with others, at other universities, nationally and internationally. This is why the new website for researchers is also open and accessible for those employed elsewhere.
Open information meetings this autumn semester
After the summer, three brief online information sessions are offered for those interested in learning more about the website, or if you want to provide feedback or ask questions. Save (one of) these dates in your calendar now. More information about the information sessions will be provided on the researchers’ website in early August.
