The program is free of chargeThe deadline for this round of applications is FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18th, 2016 (24:00).
Forwarded news from the Swedish Bioinformatics Long-Term Support:
The SciLifeLab bioinformatics platform (NBIS) offers a track where PhD students from any Swedish institute can get a senior bioinformatician as a personal advisor for up to two years of their PhD studies.
High-throughput technologies are trans- forming the demands on scientists in ge- nomics and other medical and biological research fields. As many research groups are in need of large-scale data analyses, we see a need to complement the tra- ditional role of the supervisors with bio- informatics consulting directed towards PhD students.
The program is free of charge.
Program outline:
One start-up meeting, where the advisor visits the research group.
One mandatory meeting per month, where the PhD student, supervisor and advisor meet in person or over video.
Two grand meetings (1-2 days) per year for all PhD students, supervisors and advisors in the program.
Application deadline: 18 November 2016 (24:00)
Applications are welcome from PhD students:
Enrolled at any Swedish university, at any stage of their PhD education.
Within any area of biological and medical research (compatible with the bioinformatics infrastructure).
Where both the PhD student and the supervisor approve the application.
To apply, you need to submit a small application about your project and yourself. For more information, visitwww.scilifelab.seThe decision on whom gets into the program will be taken in December 2016, and successful applicants notified by January 16, 2017.
