The vaccination centre on Campus Umeå is located in Universum and is run by the healthcare provider Region Västerbotten.
On 9 September 2021, the regional healthcare provider Region Västerbotten opened a vaccination centre in Universum on Campus Umeå. During the initial weeks, it was aimed at increasing the vaccination coverage among young adults. Currently, the vaccination centre is open to everyone in society and offers both booked appointments and drop-in vaccination against COVID-19. Vaccination against seasonal flu viruses can also be obtained here.
Umeå University has now offered Region Västerbotten to stay in the premises on the ground floor of Universum until 31 August 2022. Hence, the vaccination centre will continue its operations on Campus Umeå for quite some time. If the need will remain for as long as the offer stands is still uncertain.
“I have a really good feeling about Umeå University’s contribution to the vaccination process by continuing to offer our premises to Region Västerbotten. It’s important that we do what we can, both individually and as an organisation and Umeå University strongly encourages everyone to get vaccinated with all doses that are offered,” says Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson.
