Tomas Blomquist professor in business administration

NEWS Tomas Blomquist has been promoted to professor in business administration at Umeå School of Business. Blomquist research focuses onproject management and how organizations in networks create innovations.

Tomas Blomquist has become known internationally as a result of his research on project management, and how projects are organized in enterprises.
He has established an extensive international network of researchers and practitioners with whom he has cooperated over the years.

Blomquist defended his PhD at Umeå University and has been involved in several projects that have had great importance for the development of Umeå School of Business. These projects have reached across areas of research, education and interactions with society and businesses.

Blomquist is an active member of the Centre for Interorganisational Innovation Research (CIIR), an excellence center with support from VINNOVA. CIIR is a research center between Luleå University of Technology and Umeå University. Another commitment is the EU funded Erasmus Mundus program in strategic project management between Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and Politecnico di Milano.

A third task is the innovation project run together with FältCom, Institute of Design, Umeå School of Business, Bostaden AB, ProcessIT Innovations, Structure Design, UMEVA and Umeå municipality to develop new systems and services for the recycling of household waste through the project The Interactive recycling room.

Blomquist leads the work within one of the Umeå School of Business's research profiles on Projects, Innovations and Networks. A research profile that is anchored at Umeå School of Business, and has great potential to create new cooperation with partners both inside and outside Umeå University.
