UID Ranked as Best Design School for 3rd consecutive year

NEWS For the third year in a row, Umeå Institute of Design (UID) at Umeå University has been ranked as the best design school in Europe, North and South America by the organization Red Dot.

“We are thrilled to be ranked #1 once again," says Maria Göransdotter, head of department at Umeå Institute of Design. "At UID, students and staff from all parts of the world engage together in developing the field of design, aiming to contribute to creating a more positive future for people.  It is fantastic, and we are very proud, to see our students’ visions recognized in this way by the red dot jury of global experts in the field.”

Highly reputable schools like the American Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and French ENSCI- Les Ateliers are found on second and third place in the Red Dot listings. Being placed on top shows that the Umeå Institute of Design is well established as well as innovative, and can compete with international design schools both older and bigger in terms of number of students and staff.
