Umeå University at Swedish-German round table talks on culture

Vice-Chancellor Lena Gustafsson and Umeå Institute of Design Rector Anna Valtonen will be in Essen, Germany on 29 January to participate in a round table discussion between the two cultural capitals of Europe.
Swedish Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and minister of foreign trade Ewa Björling will also be attending.
Essen, the European Capital of Culture in 2009, has been in contact with Umeå to arrange different kinds of exchange. At the first meeting on 29 January 2014 the Swedish delegation will meet Essen mayor Reinhard Paß together with representatives from the university, commercial interests, culture, tourism and the Nordrhein-Westfalen government.
Also present from Sweden are: Marie-Louise Rönnmark, mayor of Umeå; Fredrik Lindegren, artistic director of Umeå2014; Staffan Carlsson, Swedish ambassador in Germany; Helene Berg from Visit Sweden and Robin Edman, jury member of Red Dot Award.
