Pro Futura is a postdoctoral research programme, that provides particularly outstanding junior researchers in the Arts and Social Sciences, time and possibility for free research.

Langum's research concerns the connections between the body and religious experiences, as well as medicine and ethics, in the Middle Ages and beyond. She has most recently finished a monograph on Medicine and the Seven Deadly Sins in Late Medieval Literature and Culture, which will be published in July.

"I am delighted to continue both with the programme and with the Department of Language Studies at Umeå University," Langum said.

Langum currently teaches two Master's level courses for the department: Blaming the Body and Narrating Madness.
