Northern Star Programme – in pursuit of world-class knowledge

Umeå University is establishing a new excellence programme to strengthen the quality and international competitiveness of research. The Umeå University Northern Star Programme is a global recruitment initiative committed to world-leading research in strategically prioritised research areas. The initiative consists of a Fellows Programme and a Visiting Professor’s Programme.

The multi-year programmes will contain various initiatives to take the University in the intended direction: taking responsibility for tomorrow with free and outstanding knowledge. It comprises the Umeå University Northern Star Research Fellows Programme and the Northern Star Visiting Professor Programme.
