Silvia Remeseiro: Brain Cells and Brain Cancer: A Toxic Partnership

Silvia Remeseiro is Associate Professor at the Department of Medical and Translational Biology. Her research focuses on what happens to the genome when glioblastoma, the most aggressive type of brain tumour, develops. She is particularly interested in how genes that regulate cellular behaviour can become dysregulated when DNA is reorganised within the cell nucleus. By studying the three-dimensional structure of the genome, she aims to understand why tumour cells become so difficult to treat.
