A few mathematics teachers’ changes in practice and understanding after a professional development program about formative assessment
My research is about formative assessment in mathematics and I will study a teacher professional development and its effects.
I began my doctoral studies in educational work in September 2012. The project is partially funded by the municipality of Örnsköldsvik. I am an elementary school teacher in mathematics and Swedish and before I got the doctoral position I was working as a teacher; at first two years in Skärholmen outside of Stockholm, and then as a substitute teacher in Örnsköldsvik municipality for two and a half years.

The focus will be on mathematics teachers' perceptions of formative assessment and implementation of the same in their teaching. I will follow mathematics teachers in their process of implementing formative assessment in their teaching.
