Project description

Expected results and effects

The project provides an in-depth survey of Sweden's neighboring countries, such as Norway, Denmark, Finland and Estonia, in order to gain an understanding of the areas and ways in which the IoT creates social benefits in the individual municipalities and how such initiatives are coordinated and organized within the different countries. This project part will be coordinated with IoT Sweden's internationalization strategy and contribute to the goal of expanded Nordic cooperation. Furthermore, the project will deliver an international comparison and map smart city initiatives and technology platforms.

Planned approach and implementation

A survey of municipal IoT usage in Sweden's neighboring countries. An international perspective on countries such as the United States, England and the Netherlands where we identify key people and projects in each country, in order to provide an international overview of IoT usage for community benefit. Mapping at least 10 smart city bets and their technology platforms to get a clear picture of how IoT created community benefits, and what opportunities and challenges the cities see with IoT.

Results from the project will be continuously presented here.
