Project description

The project seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of how the digital transformation of the society affect parish based diaconal work within the Church of Sweden parishes, and how these processes in turn influence social cohesion and integration within local settings. The aim of the project is to gain a better understanding of what is happening to the Church of Sweden’s parish-based diaconal work, with a particular focus on human encounters, as an increasing number of interactions in society take place through digital channels and platforms.

The project is conducted within the framework of the Industrial Doctoral School at Umeå University, in collaboration with the Church of Sweden’s Department for Research and Analysis.
