Project description

Elderly care is an arena for the implementation of political objectives such as gender equality and cultural diversity, at the same time as resources have gone through a process of top-down regulation. Meetings between dependent care givers and recipients imply dilemmas on different levels, dilemmas which must be concretely explored and analyzed. Non-intended processes can appear. Two sub-projects are planned. One sub-project concerns the political steering of the elderly care, and steering documents on central and local level will be analyzed. In the other sub-project we will explore what happens when equality, justice and care are negotiated. Whose rights are mostly respected, and how are the dilemmas solved? Zones of intimacy related to the house and to the body will be defined, and the focus on the negotiation that occurs when borders of intimacy are passed.
