The conference brings together researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and advance Arctic-related issues toward new sustainable solutions. The event will take place at Arena við Tjarnir and is organized by the University of the Faroe Islands (Setur) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture and the Faroe Marine Research Institute.

Who Can Apply?
All employees at Umeå University are welcome to apply. The grant is funded through the university’s membership in the north2north exchange program.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be made in the following order:
- Employment rate, with full-time employees given priority (a requirement from north2north).
- Official UArctic representative at Umeå University.
- Presenting participant at the UArctic Congress.
- Non-presenting participant at the UArctic Congress.
If applicants have equivalent qualifications, the final selection will be determined by lottery.
Grant Details
The travel grant amounts to SEK 15,000 and may only be used for costs related to participation in the UArctic Congress 2026. Payment of the grant will take place after participation has been completed.
