Long-Term Mobility Grants for PhD Students and Early Career Researchers

The South Africa – Sweden University Forum (SASUF+) is offering a five-month mobility grant for early-career researchers and PhD students who wish to spend five full months at a South African SASUF member university. Eligible applicants must either be enrolled as PhD students or have completed their PhD in 2022 or later. Applicants must be employed by or enrolled at their home university at the time of application and throughout the entire exchange period.

Funding from SASUF is intended to cover additional costs incurred during the stay. This includes travel, accommodation, a daily allowance and other expenses. The grant is not intended to cover salary, as applicants are expected to continue receiving their salary or other financial support from their home university during the exchange period.

A monthly daily allowance of SEK 2,932 (the amount is updated twice a year by the Swedish Agency for Government Employers). Up to SEK 15,000 for travel expenses and up to SEK 10,000 per month for accommodation.
