What can you expect?
Each meeting is designed to strengthen you as a researcher. You are given concrete tools for:
- formulating clearer application texts;
- communicating research so that more people understand and are inspired to get involved;
- working strategically with collaboration and research impact; or
- building contacts and partnerships outside of academia.
You can book a session for your research group, department or graduate school. The design is adapted to your needs as a lecture, interactive workshop or in several meetings with feedback.
Range of offerings
Getting started with collaboration
What does collaboration involve and how can it strengthen your research? We go through the basics, discuss common concepts and provide examples of different forms of collaboration in research.
- You will gain: A basic understanding for and inspiration to develop your collaboration on your own terms.
- Format: Workshop of approximately three hours (can also be provided as a lecture).
The art of communicating collaboration and real-world impact
Learn how to describe the potential impact of your research, with a focus on addressing the expectations of research applications. Suitable for larger calls where impact matters.
- You will receive: Support in finding the right formulations and arguments, both for project ideas and in applications.
- Format: Workshop of approximately two hours (can also be provided as a lecture). Option for follow-up with feedback on your written texts.
Strategic collaboration – making it work in practice
How do you enable everyday collaboration in your research? We discuss strategies, priorities and how your research goals can help you choose with whom, how and when you collaborate, so that it becomes a natural part of your work.
- You will gain: Concrete tools to work strategically with collaboration in a way that is sustainable over time.
- Format: Workshop of approximately two hours.
How to spark interest in your research
To convince external stakeholders to collaborate with you, you need to be able to explain why your research is relevant specifically to them. We practise adapting the message to the target audience and context, focusing on clarity, tone and audience perspective.
- You will gain: Tools and feedback to help you formulate an interesting description of your research for partners outside academia.
- Format: Two sessions of which one hour of introduction plus two hours of feedback and discussion.
Building long-term collaborations
Are you interested in developing long-term collaborations? Here you will work with tools and strategies to build relationships that strengthen both your research and your partner.
- You will gain: Insights on how to initiate, nurture and develop collaboration in practice.
- Format: Workshop or lecture, the format can be adapted.
Create and communicate research impact
Identify how your research can be beneficial and learn how to formulate both impact and impact pathways in research applications.
- You will receive: Help in clarifying the benefits of your research in a broader perspective (how these benefits might arise and for whom) and ways of describing this in an application.
- Format: Workshop with examples and sessions for reflection and feedback on texts.
Develop your career strategy
Would you like to fine-tune your CV, identify your strengths and take the next step in your career, within or outside academia? This workshop provides support in describing your skills and expertise, in understanding the priorities of funding bodies and in planning your path forward.
- You will receive: Concrete tips on creating different types of CVs, identifying and describing your skills and expertise, and planning your career.
- Format: Workshop – customised for each target group and its needs.
